School Context:
My Junior School is a state school, with Year 3-6 only. There is a nearby Infant School where much of our pupil intake comes from. We have a two form entry with 231 pupils on roll. There are 11 pupils in receipt of Pupil Premium funding, two of whom are 'looked after' children. We have 5 pupils with EAL
My Teaching Group
There are 58 pupils in year 4 and 30 in my class. Year group: 30 pupils (58 pupils in Year 4 altogether)
At the beginning of year 4 the ability range in the class was level 1a -4c. At the end of the school year, the ability range is 2c-4a.
In the class there are two children with statements, one of whom has cerebral palsy. There are 3 Pupil Premium children who are particularly struggling to make progress in writing and one pupil with EAL (Chinese)

Focus Pupils
Pupil 1: Girl with cerebral palsy with 1:1 support in class. She struggles with writing and was a level 1A to begin the year. She is very imaginative and has good ideas.
Pupil 2: A lower ability boy who dislikes writing and struggles to generate ideas independently. He is a pupil premium child, who struggled to make good progress in Literacy in Year 3. He rarely writes more than a couple of lines on any topic and was a 2C in the Autumn term.
Pupil 3: Pupil who has behavioural difficulties. Although very enthusiastic about maths, he dislikes writing and often refuses to write. He struggles to generate ideas and was a 2A to begin the year.
Pupil 4: Girl who enjoys writing. She struggles with spelling and structuring of her ideas, although her imaginative writing is good. She was a 3B at the beginning of the year.
Pupil 5: Boy who is AGT across many areas of the curriculum. He is talented at Literacy (4C at the start of Year 4) but he dislikes writing and prefers Maths.
